Wintery Mix

Posted in Boston-area, dog on October 16th, 2009 by Elizabeth – 3 Comments

We woke up to some snow flurries this morning, along with slushy rain.

Eli had to be coaxed outside in order to take care of business.  He then ran inside and his teeth were chattering.  I swear they were.  He obviously takes after Brendan.  They are very delicate flowers.

I on the other hand donated my winter coat over the summer and forgot to get a new one.  I finally ordered one and it arrived yesterday but it is not a good fit and I don’t think it is warm enough.  So I am wearing this zip up sweatshirt.

Well the bill for the hospital stay (and surgery) finally arrived.

Anyone care to guess at the total?

I have to say that I love health insurance right now.

Day 1 a success

Eli was left uncrated yesterday and while we almost forgot to close the upstairs door, there was no real disasters.

The closest thing to a mishap are the chew marks in one of Brendan’s flip flops (but he has like three pairs so he is fine).

Interestingly, last night Eli was more attached to Pig than usual and actually very hyper. I thought with the ability to walk around during the day he wouldn’t be that hyper.

My oncologist on the news.

This is my oncologist, Dr. Bita Tabesh, on a local news (NECN) segment last week.  I couldn’t get the player to work so you have to use the link.

Apple Pie

I made the pie and it is really good. Next time maybe I will try to make the crust. That seems to be the more difficult part.

So we were getting a lot of searches for “Elizabeth and Brendan 2010″ and we wondered why. Turns out another Liz and Brendan set up a website but added 2010 to the URL. So some of there guests have been searching and finding this blog instead of a wedding web site. Oops.

FYI: There is lizandbrendan.com. Brendanandelizabeth.com used to be taken but it is not available. So all o

Apple Pickin’

Posted in Boston-area, dog on October 10th, 2009 by Elizabeth – 3 Comments

Today we went to Nashoba Valley Winery and Orchard for some good ol’ apple picking. We picked this spot because they allow dogs. So we packed up the pup and headed about an hour outside the city. (This was a good test to see if Eli can handle the drive to NY. After an hour he was fine so it looks good with some stopping.) Also Eli was really well behaved while walking around, meeting new people (especially the kids, though one attacked him with hugs and kisses while her sister started crying because she wanted to hold the leash), and interacting with other dogs.

View from the Orchard.

The lovely wedding.

And this place started out as a winery and have a large wine store. Brendan was sent in while I stayed outside with Eli. We thought maybe a red and white. This is him coming out of the store. You shouldn’t be carrying a box for 2 bottles of wine.

And this is Eli about 5 minutes after we left the orchard.  He was one tired, but happy, pup.

Let’s see if I am motivated to make the pie tomorrow.

Georgia on my mind

Posted in vacation on October 9th, 2009 by Elizabeth – 5 Comments

So we are going to Georgia.  We will be flying into Atlanta and then at some point driving an hour and a half to Athens.  I am unsure of the exact itinerary but am sure the “fun and activity director” Kristen will have it all sorted out.  Ultimately our trip will lead us to Sanford Stadium, pictured below.

I just hope that bulldog isn’t there.  He looks a bit menancing as he hovers over the stadium…

I have been told we need to wear red but I refuse to go in a dress or put Brendan in khaki’s and a tie.

I am pretty much giving it away. I am curious to see if anyone can get it without the help of Google.

I hope we are not tardy for the party.

It should be easy to get some REM sleep in this classic city.

Name this City Continued…

While we will be flying into and spending some time in the previously pictured city, we will also be visiting this city.

You can name this city or try to name the state.
