So Brendan’s friend Jay (aka Nass aka Jason Mulgrew) wrote a book (Brendan is mentioned in the Acknowledgements). And since Brendan does his website, we thought we would help him out by pimping out his book – which can now be pre-ordered now but will be available in stores on March 2.

Here is one review (chosen because of who wrote it)
“After reading this book, I’m surprised there’s not more wrong with Jason Mulgrew. People who grow up like this tend to become agoraphobics, serial killers, or really funny writers. Mulgrew, I think— hope?—is the last of these three things. His stories of childhood made me laugh out loud. Jason: I did your quote; please don’t murder me.” — Rob McElhenney, star, creator, and producer of IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA

Pre-order now at:

Alett and Hugh are in chilly Florida for the Disney Marathon weekend. Saturday is the half-marathon and you get a Donald Duck medal when you finish. Sunday is the full marathon and you get a Mickey Mouse Medal if you finish. But if you finish BOTH you get a Goofy medal for the Goofy challenge (which is what they are doing). ‘Cause only a goof would run a half-marathon one day and a full marathon the next. So “Good luck” and you are entitled to unlimited cupcakes after Sunday.

Alett and Hugh are known to be crazy when it comes to running as seen here.

Although, we need to replace the bottom of Eli’s crate since he broke it while he was left alone (we went to Jersey to visit with the whole C. clan and Eli had to stay at home for about 7 hours). But I would take a broken tray to jumping out the window any day. Overall Eli was great – he went to the bathroom on the leash like a champ. He found his spot down on Shore Road and became quite predictable. He did growl and bark a lot more but he was around more people this time. Eli was not into the wrapping paper and it may be because he was anxious in a new place. Prior to us leaving, Eli was all over the wrapping of gifts so it was odd.

He did great again with Grandma but was a bit terrorized by the kids. Even grandma said, “Shhh – you are scaring the dog.” And while the kids were scaring the dog, Grandma could have just said “Shhh” as she has enough political capital to get people to quiet down without adding the dog in there. She is tough like that.

Eli got to sleep in bed with us as a treat and did not try to continue the trend at home.

When we got home, we gave Eli his stocking. Here he is checking it out.

On Sunday, Brendan and I took Eli out for a nice long walk around Davis/Ball Square. And it was going swimmingly. The dog was behaving, I had an iced coffee, the sun was out and then we turned up our street.

We passed a house that has some shrubery out front and it seemed innocuous. Seriously. And then this cat jumped out of no where and was ready to attack. Back was arched, tail up, all the hairs standing on end. Needless to say, I screamed and Eli started barking. Brendan pulled at Eli and we tried to walk up the street but the cat would not back down. Bizarrely the cat advanced as we walked away. We tried to shoo it away but to no avail. All the time, Eli is still barking like a mad man. Brendan finally picked up the dog and started to walk home while I kept an out that the cat was not following. It was crazy and last night I ran by the house for fear of another attack on us. Life is tough in Meffa – real tough. Be careful.

Shout out: Happy Birthday Teresa and enjoy your birthday gift!
