I may be heading to Frankfurt, Germany in the near future. And by Frankfurt, I mean the airport. I am working on a conference for physicians at the Frankfort Sheraton which is adjacent to the airport. I would fly in, work and fly out and all I will see is the airport. Oh and this is over Brendan’s birthday. Last year I had to be in Switzerland for his birthday and this year I will be in Frankfurt. And before the “poor Brendan” comments start, he gets good gifts and is well fed. He will be fine.

Later in April, Brendan’s cousin came up to visit from Georgia. Turns out she was attending a weekend workshop right in our hometown of Medford.

Some interesting facts about Medford.

You can walk down the same street Paul Revere rode down on his horse – shouting the British are coming, the British are coming

You can visit Tufts University

Jingle Bells was written here

[For my NYC peeps] Michael Bloomberg lived here and went to Medford High School

You can go to Modern Bakery (better than Mike’s Pastries) without having to go to the North End

Medford Square is Ground Zero for the gypsy moth infestation of North America

Fannie Farmer was born here

That same weekend, my friend who I affectionately call Koumpara hosted Greek Easter at her apartment and it was FABULOUS! I wanted to be Greek after that dinner. But I have to settle for being a philhellene. Some pictures of Gina (Koumpara) being Gina, Will, and Winson (aka the Seafood Prince of NY).

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

December saw me traveling to Fairfield, Ohio for work – just one week after returning from our honeymoon. When I came back we got an early Christmas gift in the shape of a new Honda CRV (ice blue). We got it just in time for the first of many snow storms this winter. All-wheel drive really helps you navigate the snow.

Because we used all of our vacation days for the honeymoon (well worth it!) we couldn’t be in NY on Christmas day but we were able to get all the visiting in for BK and LI the following weekend.

And then we rang in the New Year in Woburn.
