Published!
At work I have had my first abstract accepted and poster presentation for the 13th Biennial European Conference of the Society for Medical Decision Making.
I am excited because I currently have 2 more abstracts submitted to national conferences (European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis) and another in the works for (Society of Critical Care Medicine).
Also I am currently a listed author on two manuscripts (one is a potential first author which most of you may not understand except Sarah and Alett) that are being written and then we will have to submit for acceptance to a few medical journals.
So it has been exciting having my work published in the medical community.
Congratulations!!! What is the topic? Now I’ll know someone
famous.
The cost burden of misdiagnoses of preeclampsia in the UK and Germany.
Oh my gosh! That’s so cool! Can I read it? Yet another reason you’re my idol.
Congrats!!!!
(oh and I, too, understand the importance of being a first author)
Congrats Liz…. AND first author – for those of you who don’t know this is HUGE, nice one my friend
what name are you publishing under? I have an alter-ego now at work as I kept my maiden name there!
Lot’s of catching up – I have not viewed your blog in quite a while. Congratulations!!!! Very exciting.
Thank you! The author order is still being discussed. Based on the guidelines I should be first but the sponsor of the research may win out.
Sponsor should be last author, well that’s how we run things here. Senior (last) author is huge too but for different reasons. First author is the one who did all the work and wrote the paper… in my experience anyhow
I conducted the research and wrote the manuscript so I totally should be first author. However, the client has a way of worming us out of it (even though the international guidelines say otherwise!)
